Puberty can be challenging enough for a 'neurotypical' teenager. But what about the added challenges teenagers who are on the autism spectrum face at this period of development? Raging hormones, mood swings, diminished or delayed understanding of what is happening to their bodies and feelings. What if your child is non-verbal or needs visual aids to communicate? Then the parents; what about them? How do we go about supporting a child on the spectrum and who do we go to for help?....
