DIRTY TRICKS - MAGIC MISDIRECTION AND SPYCRAFT

Spies often use Magicians in time of crises. France deployed Robert Houdin to quell Algerian uprisings. Houdini worked for the American Secret Service. Jasper Maskylyne created decoy armies to fool German bombers. In the Cold War the CIA created the MK Ultra mind control programme and recruited mentalists for ‘Project Stargate’– the 'psychic spy unit’.

In the 1980s the Great Baldini (the legendary magician) was asked to lecture to MI6 trainees at Fort Monckton Military Training Establishment in Portsmouth on the 'use of Magic and Misdirection in Spycraft'. This lecture has now been declassified under the 'Thirty Year Rule'.

In this lecture Baldini taught Dirty Tricks to new MI6 recruits - how to rig an election, move agents across the Berlin Wall, win at Russian roulette, launder money and trigger a sleeper agent to commit assassination. Now you can learn too.

Classified under the Official Secrets Act for the last thirty years, Baldini's Fort Monkton Lecture is a masterclass in applying magical thinking to the treacherous world of cold war spymasters - think Paul Daniels meets John Le Carre!
